NRPS & NEMS Fort Erie Station

NRPS & NEMS Fort Erie Station

Project Summary

The Regional Municipality of Niagara engaged Quartek Group Inc. to perform architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical design services for a new building being constructed for the Police Service 5 District and Emergency Medical Services in Fort Erie on a previously unserviced site. Quartek has worked with Regional staff and representatives from the Niagara RegionalPolice Service and the Niagara Emergency Medical Service to develop a cost-effective and functional design and to deliver complete tender documents on schedule and within budget.

The project was designed by Quartek to LEED silver standards and involved the development of an energy use model to obtain HPNC unding. The design process also involved a ‘value engineering’ session coordinated and facilitated by Quartek to enhance the cost-effectiveness of the project..

This project is the first time a NRPS detachment and a NEMS station have been combined in a single building and stands as an example that efficiency and economies of scale can be achieved by combining different user groups in one project.
